Ollie Glow in the Dark FAQs
How do I make Ollie glow?
To maximize the glow factor on your wand, put the Ollie in bright, direct sunlight for an hour or so before hitting the lights. Blacklight bulbs will also "charge" Ollie's glow-in-the-dark material. Kindly note, due to the material's body-safe nature, some variation in brightness will occur over time.
How does Ollie Glow in the Dark work?
Glow in the dark materials are phosphorescent, meaning they contain a phosphor. A phosphor is a substance that soaks up energy from another source, for example, a lightbulb, and releases that energy as visible light.
This process occurs when electrons, which move in a cloud around the nucleus of the atom, are exposed to an energy source. The electrons move up and down in an excited state, eventually falling back to their ground state. As the electrons fall back to their ground state, they give off the energy as a flash of light, or luminescence.
Is it safe?
Unbound's Ollie Glow in the Dark vibrator, like all Unbound products, is made with lab-tested and verified body-safe silicone. Ollie Glow in the Dark silicone is made with a body-safe powder that contains the standard ingredient strontium aluminate to achieve the luminescent effect. This powder is non-radioactive, non-flammable, and non-toxic. The silicone is REACH certified and verified by SGS as non-toxic and body-safe in accordance with regulation No 1907 / 2006.
