Flick FAQs
Q: How big is Flick?
A: Flick is Unbound’s smallest and most compact vibrator.
The Flick ring itself measures around 1.37 inch by 1.3 inch in x 1.3 inches and the packaging that Flick comes in is about 5.25 in x 5.25 in x 1.65 inches.
Q: How heavy is Flick?
A: Flick is a very lightweight vibrator. The ring itself weighs about 1.1 oz or 0.07 lb. When weighing Flick with its packaging, it’s 6.4 ounces or 0.4 lb.
Q: How long does Flick take to charge?
A: You should charge Flick for a full two hours to fully charge the battery. When Flick is actively being charged, you should be able to see the blinking LED light on the button on the back of the ring. Once Flick is fully charged, the light will stop blinking and stay solid.
NOTE: You can only use an UL Certified USB Power Adapter with a maximum 5V output, and a standard 1A input current. If you use a charging block that has voltage output higher than 5V, it can overheat the battery and render the product defective. Always charge your Flick on a flat surface like a nightstand or desk. Do not charge Flick on a soft surface like a carpet or a bed, as it may cause the product to overheat.
In order to charge your Flick, remove the ring and locate the Unbound Universal Charger in the box Flick came in. Connect the charger to the magnetic charging nodes on the vibe and give it a full charge. The light indicators should blink as Flick is charging. After it’s fully charged, the light indicators turn solid.
Q: Is Flick good for beginners?
A: If you’re a beginner who’s never used a motorized product before, Flick is a great place to start! The vibration intensity is not as strong as a wand or rabbit vibrator like Ollie or Clutch. Flick is designed for external stimulation only, making it a bit more straightforward and easy to use if you’re new to vibes. Furthermore, Flick is incredibly compact and easy to store, with a very discreet jewelry design.
Q: Is Flick more rumbly or buzzy?
A: Flick is much more buzzy than it is rumbly – this is because it is so small and compact! Vibrators have a motor that powers a weight to rotate in a circular motion, creating the vibration sensation. The type of vibration is determined by the size of the weight and the circumference of the rotation. Smaller weights and smaller circumferences mean a more compact, quick vibration which many describe as a buzzy sensation. Larger weights that rotate on a larger circumference, like Ollie for example, tend to create more rumbly vibrations due to their size and power.
Q: What does Flick feel like?
A: Flick’s vibration is buzzy and light, similar to vibrations from bullet vibrators like Zip.
Q: How powerful is Flick? Why isn't it as strong as my other vibrators?
A: Flick’s compact shape limits its power due to the small size required for the motor and weight to create vibration. In comparison to other vibrators, Flick is most similar in power to Zip or a bullet vibrator with a comparable, smaller motor size to allow for the product to be wearable as a ring – can you imagine putting Ollie on your finger?! Not very chic or discreet!
Q: Should I use lube with Flick?
A: Yes! If you’d like to use lubricant while enjoying Flick, the metal surface is compatible with water-based lubricants like Jelly. Flick is also compatible with silicone and hybrid lubricants, as well as stimulating gels. Please note that it’s common for the surface of a precious metal to tarnish after repeated and/or prolonged contact with oil and moisture, so naturally Flick will tarnish over time with normal wear – but the metal surface is safe to use with lubricant.
Q: Is Flick waterproof?
A: Flick is not fully waterproof, but it is water resistant. Please do not fully submerge Flick under water at any point in time or it will be rendered defective. If you are using a small amount of water to clean Flick, it will not harm the product, but limiting water exposure will extend the life and quality of Flick. Flick should be worn in vibey cocktail bars and dimly lit bedrooms rather than in the bathtub.
Q: How do you clean Flick?
A: We recommend cleaning your Flick before and after each use. In order to clean Flick, rinse your ring with warm water and soap. Dry off Flick with a soft cloth until completely dry. Do not boil the product. Please be sure not to use any abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads that contain any small particles that can scratch the surface of your Flick ring.
Flick’s outer surface is finished with precious metals such as Palladium, Titanium, and 24K Gold. Keeping the surface clean and dry (when not in use) will help extend the life and quality of the vibe and surface. Over time, some surface discoloration may occur due to exposure to sweat, water, and other elements.
Q: What's the warranty on Flick?
A: All Unbound motorized products are covered under a one year warranty, from date of purchase. However, Unbound’s warranty does not cover lost products or specific lost components that came with your Flick. Unbound’s warranty does not cover scratches that are to be expected with everyday wear and tear (e.g., slight erosion of surface, small scratches in metal surface with wear), improper use such as fully immersing your Flick under water or repeated exposure to salt and/or water, or improper storage of your Flick. If your Flick is not functioning properly, please email hello@unboundbabes.com with a photo and video of the issue, and we’ll troubleshoot the problem with you or provide a replacement
Q: What is Flick made out of?
A: The metals for Flick differ between the Gold and Silver. Flick in Silver contains a Zinc alloy and Palladium. Flick in Gold contains a Zinc alloy, Palladium, Titanium, and 24K Gold. Both Flick in Gold and Silver have small, trace amounts of Nickel in the charging pins but not on the actual product itself. If you have a nickel allergy, we do not recommend purchasing and using Flick. If you have any irritation or reaction, stop using the product immediately and contact a medical professional to seek further guidance.
Q: What is Palladium?
A: Palladium is a rare metal that belongs to the platinum group of elements. It's often used in jewelry because it's hypoallergenic, strong, and resistant to corrosion. Palladium is similar to platinum in terms of appearance and durability, but it’s a bit more lightweight.
Q: What does it mean if it’s 24k gold? How is that defined?
A: 24k Gold indicates pure gold with no additional alloys added to it. While this is only for the external layer on your Flick, it has been tested and verified as 24k Gold plated. Gold coating thickness test report is here, silver is here.
Q: I have a Nickel allergy, can I use Flick?
A: Flick contains trace amounts of Nickel in the charging pins on the ring. As a result, we do not recommend purchasing Flick if you have a Nickel allergy.
We’re actively working on a fully nickel free update, be sure to check back for Flick’s latest news.
Q: My Flick got scratched and the surface is now damaged, is it still safe to use?
A: Flick, like any piece of rare metal jewelry, is susceptible to scratching with normal, everyday wear and tear. We highly recommend removing your Flick ring before any activity that could risk physical damage as well as before bathing and/or showering. If the surface of your Flick is scratched with any uneven metal exposed, please discontinue use of your Flick and do not use the product on any intimate or sensitive parts of the body that could be scratched.
Q: My Flick got scratched / damaged / faded while I was wearing it, can I get a replacement?
A: Unbound offers a one year warranty on all of our motorized products if they are no longer functioning and rendered defective.
Why isn’t the screwdriver magnetic?
We, too, love the satisfaction of a magnetic screwdriver. However, we wanted to make sure Flick would pass Corrosion Resistance and Waterproof testing, so we needed to make all the screws using stainless steel – which are sadly not magnetic. The good news is, it’s more durable! If you need any tips for adjusting your ring band please don’t hesitate to let us know – we’re here to help.
